Product Description

ECOFOX® Brown Batts Insulation Description

ECOFOX® Brown batt insulation is manufactured by fiberizing molten recycled glass into fine strands that are bound together with thermosetting binders, yielding a lightweight, flexible mat. They deliver excellent thermal resistance (R-values typically ranging from 0.7 to 4.0 m²·K/W depending on thickness), high sound-absorption (Noise Reduction Coefficient up to 1.24), and non-combustibility (Euro class A1 or ASTM E84) thanks to their inorganic composition. Their open-cell structure traps air, reducing heat transfer, while their fibrous network dissipates sound energy, making them ideal for roof, wall, ceiling, HVAC duct, and industrial applications. Brown glass wool is formaldehyde-free, non-corrosive, and free of asbestos or shot, ensuring safe handling and long-term performance.

Environmental & Health Aspects

1. Formaldehyde-Free & Asbestos-Free

Contemporary brown glass wool uses formaldehyde-free binders and contains zero asbestos or crystalline silica, posing no known carcinogenic risks when properly installed with protective gear.

2. Recycled Content & Sustainability

Typical recycled glass content exceeds 60 %, reducing landfill waste and raw-material energy consumption. Glass wool is fully recyclable at end-of-life and contributes to LEED credits for recycled content and thermal performance.

Applications

1. Building Envelope: Roofing, cavity walls, external façades, partition walls

2. HVAC Systems: Duct lining and wrap for thermal control and noise reduction

3. Industrial Insulation: Tanks, boilers, ovens, compressor houses, machine rooms operating up to 450 °C (service temperature)

4. Prefabricated & Steel Structures: Light-weight panels and sandwich constructions

Packaging & Handling

Blankets are supplied in vacuum-packaged PE/PP bags, shrink-wrapped, or OEM-branded cartons. They can be cut easily with a serrated knife and friction-fit into framing cavities without additional adhesives or fasteners.
